Questions
Cyprus weddings, answered straight
The questions every couple asks in their first week of planning.
How much does a wedding in Cyprus cost?
A typical 40-guest hotel wedding costs €7,000–€12,000 all-in: ceremony package €1,500–€2,500, dinner and drinks €70–€110 per guest, plus photography, flowers and music. Intimate elopements run from ~€3,000; five-star weddings for 80+ reach €20,000+. See our full cost guide for line-by-line figures.
Are Cyprus weddings legally recognised in the UK?
Yes. Cyprus civil marriages are fully recognised in the UK and most countries worldwide — no second ceremony needed at home. Cyprus is one of the easiest countries for foreign couples to legally marry, which is exactly why it hosts thousands of UK weddings a year.
How long do we need to be in Cyprus before the wedding?
Plan to arrive 2–3 working days before the ceremony for the municipality paperwork appointment. Most couples arrive 4–5 days ahead to settle in, meet suppliers and do the legal admin without rushing.
When is the best time of year to marry in Cyprus?
May, June, September and October are the sweet spots — reliably warm, kinder than the 35°C+ of high summer, and the sea is swimmable throughout. July and August work well with late-afternoon ceremonies; winter weddings are mild but chance rain.
Which part of Cyprus is best for a wedding?
Paphos has the widest venue choice, its own airport and west-facing sunsets. Protaras and Ayia Napa have the island's clearest turquoise water. Limassol brings five-star city polish, and Larnaca wins on airport convenience. Our venue guide compares all of them honestly.
Is this a wedding planning company?
We're an independent planning guide and venue-matching service, not a venue or a single planner. Our matching is free for couples; venues and suppliers may pay us a fee when a booking goes ahead, which never changes the price you pay.
